Massage therapy has long been recognized as an effective way to
relieve pain and stress. During pregnancy, women experience many physical and emotional changes. Muscular tension,
fatigue, and swelling are common during pregnancy due to increased weight, shifting posture, and changing hormone levels.
Prenatal massage has been shown to have a wide range of benefits to expectant moms. These include, but are not
limited to, increased energy and circulation, improved digestion, reduction in swelling and fatigue, and increased muscle
flexibility, which can reduce the strain of childbirth. It can also be very powerful in alleviating stress and
enhancing self-image.
While prenatal massage can be used safely during most pregnancies,
there are some pregnancy conditions in which massage is not recommended. These include but are not limited to preterm
labor, gestational diabetes, and hypertension. Pregnant women should consult their physician/healthcare
provider before getting a massage.
Postpartum/postnatal massage is beneficial in restoring the body to its pre-pregnancy
condition. Restored muscular tone, increased circulation which helps reduce swelling, reduced sleep deprivation, and
reduced stress for the new mom are some of the benefits of postnatal massage.
We offer a wide range of
massage services, including pre/postnatal, deep-tissue and Swedish; all customized to each person's specific needs.
